Testing Principles

The complete principles of testing can be fully defined under the following 5 areas:

Ø      Verification is the process that confirms that a software product works correctly, by asking the question ‘Are we building the product right?’

Ø      Validation is the process that confirms that a software product works according to the specification as defined by the client, by asking the question ‘Are we building the right product?’

Ø      Physical Testing is reliant upon the physical running of the program

Ø      Walkthrough Testing is based upon reviews and formal analysis

Ø      QA stands for Quality Assurance, which applies to every aspect of the software process, covering both development and testing areas
