UAT & QA E-Commerce Test Manager                                

The AA Corporation                          Jul 2009 – Oct 2009

Ø       Created, and delivered, a Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Schedule and business area specific Test Procedures that took into account the User Acceptance Testing needs of the B2B System Consolidation Project’s Phase 1 that was to be used by various business departments, including the AA’s Call Centre

Ø       Defined and implemented Defect Management, Configuration Management and Change Management controls as these did not exist within the project, therefore to ensuring that the project deliver the change to the business in the form of a new e-Commerce system development that will integrate with other AA systems

Ø       Managed and scheduled the scope of UAT testing activities within tight pre-defined timelines by ensuring that the business allocated user testers were aware of the testing remit and were also fully involved and available for the scheduled periods required with workload scheduled between Basingstoke and Oldbury, Birmingham

Ø       Created the user training guides and performed the training as required to the business users to help them with their involvement in UAT

Ø       Working closely with the software developers and also provided them with recommended changes to the system for the benefit of the users and all-round usability

Ø       Defining test data in conjunction with the business users for use within UAT

Ø       Personally performed end-to-end Pre-UAT testing of the software releases to ensure that the quality levels were suitable for the users to start performing UAT against

Ø       Trained up permanent members of staff to take on the Test Management activities for future software releases.

Pre-Commissioning & QA Test Manager

Ø       This was Phase II (final Phase) of the previous CBS Outdoor contract that I performed in May 2007

Ø       Created, and delivered, a Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Test Strategy, Test Plan and Schedule that took into account the testing needs of the structured testing that that was required for the successful implementation of the integrated XTP (Cross Track Projection) system into the London Underground Network

Ø       Managed, and scheduled, the XTP related testing activities in a separate test environment that I was responsible for on a day-to-day basis located in Walthamstow.  Also dealing with all 3rd party suppliers throughout and measuring all the deliverable against plan as well as managing all defects through to successful resolution

Ø       Ensured that all testing related work surpassed the standards required to meet ISO 9000:2008 and Sarbanes-Oxley levels of acceptance

Ø       Created the user training material and performed the training as required to the business engineers.

Ø       Created the project specific Test Strategy and Master Test Plan documentation to the Norwich Union Quality Management System levels, that are defined as per the levels defined by ISO

Ø       Created a testing schedule that took into account System Testing, Partial Integration Testing, Systems Integration Testing and Acceptance Testing of a complex multi-systems integrated solution that provided everybody with a more detailed level of understanding as to who was required, when they were required and for what testing related activitie

Ø       Negotiated and managed the staffing requirements of various internal and external staff according to a matrix management approach

Integration/ UAT/QA Test Manager

Ø       Created a Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Schedule and QA Plan that took into account the testing needs of the structured testing that encompassed an integrated server, Media PC, Webcam and specialist High Definition projector for a revolutionary London Underground media display system

Ø       Ensured that all Quality Assurance and Health & Safety measures were taken into account for all stages of the environments configuration and testing activities

Ø       Managed the testing of the implementation at an LU trial site at Euston Tube Station, also keeping all parties informed of the latest in the projects timeline expectations and results

Ø       Managed the movements of all equipment and any specific resources and transportation between the different suppliers and locations.

Projects Release Control Test Manager

Ø       Worked with the existing test team to define a more structured setup and use of Quality Center across projects for the management of Defects and Test Execution across multiple projects

Ø       Managed the complete structure of the Systems Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing for multiple projects

Ø       Continually assessed the work performed against ISO 9001:2000, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) and CMMI-3 quality requirements so as to ensure that the project would be more likely to pass any audit

Ø       Worked in close liaison with the Environments Manager to ensure that the environments and Configuration Management was always up-to-date

European Programme & QA Test Manager

Ø       Created a European-wide Test Strategy, Test Plan and QA Plan for multiple projects (from Business Requirement and Technical Design Specification documents) to reflect a central awareness of the overall test approach and plans to System Testing, Systems Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Performance Testing, Data Validation Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing and Decommissioning Testing which were used and followed for the benefit of the various multiple integrated systems projects over a distributed Data Warehouse systems architecture, addressing the needs and expectations of both functional and non-functional activities, assessing any required improvements required for the QA process

Ø       Ensured that all testing related work surpassed the standards required to meet ISO 9000:2001 and Sarbanes-Oxley levels of acceptance.

Ø       Scoped the testing activities across a multi-system integrated development that covered areas including the Oracle Financials (Oracle E-Business Suite 11i) and front-end data capture applications to a multi-level Data Warehouse back-end, then on through to COGNOS Cubes reporting system, ensuring a full scope was addressed within the testing remit and that all testing deliverables and reporting were made as per requirements

Ø       Assessed, and performed, a Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach to areas of development that would best benefit project timescales dealing closely with the offshore development team that were based in India at WiPro

Ø       Presented the case for the overall integrated testing scope to Steering Committee meetings to show the overall strategy and approach to the testing scope of the integrated developments

Ø       Incorporated the use of TestDirector and DevTrack for the benefit of managing the overall scope of test scripts and for tracking development issues across all part of the integrated delivery

Ø       Was part of the main Data & Reporting Leadership Team that governed all decisions within the projects in hand, to ensure that all testing related aspects, and related work, were discussed adequately, with the activities planned being of benefit to the projects timeline

International Environments Project Manager

Ø       Created and implemented a Release & Version Control Management process and QA Plan for the smooth Release Control mechanism for business stream management to follow and adhere to, ensuring that an overall common approach was followed with a suitable amount of Risk Assessment and analysis, which I implemented both in the UK and in Turkey for the project, also ensuring Quality Assurance standards were adhered to throughout

Ø       Developed and compiled a comprehensive Configuration Management process to ensure that a complete controlling process existed for the release control management of a multiple environment (test, development training and production) for a comprehensive integrated EPOS system project

Ø       Managed the relationship between the entire project streams Project Management (5 streams), including offshore team members based at TCS in India, and all required work that was requested of 3rd parties that were involved in the project to successfully plan for any eventuality and assess the overall risks and issues throughout

Ø       Advised senior management as to what was required to ensure complete resilience of the various environments that made up the integrated solutions within the project for both the UK based environments and Turkey based environments

Ø       Designed, planned, managed, budgeted for and implemented the UAT Test Room and associated Test Support room requirements, for the Turkey based UAT for the project, which also incorporated the OAT scope

Ø       Scheduled specific appropriate code release into the various environments to suit the needs of the project timescales, ensuring that other disparate systems were not adversely affected

Ø       Managed the Testing, Production and Training environment needs to ensure that all parties had the relevant environment in place for their scheduled requirements and deadlines.

International Programme Test & QA Manager

Ø       I started off on this project by defining, writing and implementation the overall Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Scripts and Quality Assurance documentation from scratch when I was based in the UK, also advising the Software Development Team in structured Testing consideration during their development process

Ø       The scope of my remit was to closely liaise, and build up a rapport, with a 3rd party Project Management company based in Spain called Soluziona, as well as to build up the test team that I was taking over to Egypt with me to help me test the system thoroughly.  I also presented QA presentations to the Client, as well as produced the comprehensive Acceptance Packs for sign-off at the closing stages of the project and ensuring a high quality of QA was adhered to throughout the project

Ø       I was also tasked with building up a test team from scratch that were going to be with me during the initial testing in the UK and also to be my test team over in Egypt.  I had to search for, interview, select and train up the staff that were going to be my test team, as well as to sort out all that they require for their relocation with me to Egypt for the duration of the project

Ø      The testing scope that I produced covered the complete scope of the complex Maintenance Management System that managed the entire LNG plant.  I managed the performance of the initial Systems and Systems Integration Testing (SIT) within the UK prior to implementing the Integrated Maintenance Management System Software into the Egypt based hardware platform and then performing all of the SIT scope of tests, to perform a validation assessment against the UK test results, before performing all of the User Acceptance Testing phase

Ø       Managed the Client and 3rd party relationships to ensure regular communications throughout and client availability for the scheduling of test witnessing

Ø       I liaised with all levels of project staff (up to Senior Director level) in London, Egypt and Spain to ensure information was passed through to the relevant people, where I was initially based in London before moving out to Egypt for the remainder of the project through to handover to Client

Ø       I delivered a fully tested, and working, integrated software system (Computerised Maintenance Management System, Laboratory Information Management System, Real Time Information System, Electronic Document Management System and PI (Plant Information) System) to the Client within timeframes required, also resulting in a complete Auditable trail of structured documentation that meets IEEE, ISO and Sarbanes-Oxley Quality Assurance standards.

Ø       Defined and produced a comprehensive UAT Test Plan, and other related documentation that outlined the complete scope of the UAT process, which provided confidence to the programme management

Ø       Defined an approach to test the processing of EMV CHIP Processing and PIN Management functionality based upon ISO 8583 standards

Ø       Performed presentations to senior Visa Managers to provide project updates

Ø       Ensured that all testing related work surpassed the standards required to meet ISO 9000:2001 and Sarbanes-Oxley levels of acceptance

Ø       Produced test metrics and reports to ensure complete status awareness are shared with all parties concerned.

QA/Test Manager/Consultant

Ø       Project managed the entire Testing process for a major UK based Life & Pensions company (PPML), dealing with data migration and the integration of a Workflow system, Pension Administration system, Cash Management system, PAYE system and a Web Portal system, which resulted in a more structured overall approach throughout.

Ø       Advised internal/external senior management and project managers upon testing needs and expectations, therefore ensuring their respective buy-in to the complete plan as a whole.

E-Commerce Project/Programme Test Manager

Ø       Defined testing standards, and project related documentation, for a number of CA’s key development projects, covering both e-commerce and non e-commerce related developments, and presented these recommendations to the project managers by working closely with Senior Management and representative from the MoD, Virgin and a World leading Greek shipping company.  This resulted in a resilient and regular product quality assessment.

Ø       Liaised with all levels of internal and external staff, some located at CATS in India, as well as with senior management staff of CA’s clients, including CEO and Managing Director levels engaging both technical and non-technical staff, therefore ensuring everybody was kept up to date with the overall product delivery status.

Ø       Defined stringent acceptance criteria for product releases from QA and negotiated the acceptance levels of UAT with the 3rd party, which resulted in total understanding of what was acceptable for product delivery.

Ø       Responsible for signing off developments that have successfully been through the QA testing process that I had defined prior to allowing UAT commencement, resulting in a compete awareness of quality expectations.
